Long-Term Yancy Forums Peer-to-Peer Engagement Show Significant Physician Satisfaction, Retention

Yancy Forums is pleased to announce the results of our latest forum with physicians from Yale New Haven Health, Connecticut’s leading healthcare system that’s ranked among the nation’s best hospitals by US News & World Report.

The summer 2023 survey of 30 Yancy Forums participants was conducted by Dr. Kristine Olson, Yale New Haven Health’s Chief Wellness Officer who is unaffiliated with Yancy Forums. The stellar results on all fronts—combatting physician isolation, building DEI inclusiveness, breaking-down institutional barriers—speak to the value of our Forum’s design as well as our belief that when it comes to peer-to-peer interaction, the answer is in the room:

%

Are more connected to colleagues throughout Yale Health

%

Feel they have a secure “safe place” with peers

%

Confident that they emerged as a better leader

%

Are more skilled at problem solving

%

Are more likely to stay at Yale Health for their entire career

“This is pure gold…These results are definitely in the upper quartile of any physician satisfaction scored I’ve ever reviewed. They prove that the Yancy Forum way of bringing peers together not just to meet—but to build long-term engagement is the antidote healthcare leaders today need when facing physician burnout, high turnover rates, lack of diversity & inclusion, and many other pressing issues that are keeping them up at night. The fact alone that nearly three-quarters of respondents said they’re more likely to remain at YNHH after participating in your forums speaks volumes and gives hope to today’s healthcare leaders in my opinion. Again, pure gold.”

Kevin A. Myatt

Yale New Haven Health System’s former Chief Human Resources Officer
