About

Mission

Our process establishes and deepens connections through purposeful interactions with colleagues.

History

Earl Yancy grew up in Louisiana’s bayou country, joined the Marines, was educated at an HBCU, taught at an Ivy League university, and was chosen to be a Loeb Fellow at Harvard. He applied that combination of experiences to found Yancy Minerals, which was awarded Connecticut’s “Company of the Year”.

His company’s success was based on a strong focus on employee engagement and empowerment. As a young Black man growing up in the segregated South, he saw firsthand the consequences from the lack of appreciation for diversity and neglect of inclusion. As a CEO, he ensured that his employees respected each other’s talents and drew on the collective wisdom of their peers for both workplace and personal solutions.

An inveterate entrepreneur, he drew on that experience to found a firm that offers organizations a proprietary process of peer collaboration for problem-solving, performance growth, and personal enrichment. Since 2010, that firm, Yancy Forums, has grown to provide an innovative and uniquely sustainable development experience for high-achieving professionals and a wide range of benefits for their organizations.

The Yancy Forums Process

While each business and professional sector has its unique challenges and opportunities, the Yancy Forums model provides a time-tested platform and proven process for peers from every sector to apply their collective wisdom for their institutions and their own development.

Our Values

Trust

Trust is essential to the Yancy Forums model of professional and personal collaboration. We work hard to provide a “safe place” for forum members. We adhere to the Chatham House Principle that forum members are free to use information from forum discussions so long as they keep confidential the source of the information.

Respect

Respect for the unique talents and achievements of each member is key to obtaining a critical benefit of forums – the ability to tap into the “collective wisdom” of the group. Our process builds an appreciation for those personal talents and achievements. Our moderators ensure that members feel comfortable that their peers will respect each others’ opinions.

Commitment

Commitment to participate fully as a forum member is required prior to acceptance. During the forum, it is cultivated by the moderators and enhanced as members become comfortable seeking and providing frank feedback and helpful advice. In turn, Yancy Forums is committed to providing members a confidential means of assessing the impact of their forum participation on their professional and personal goals. Yancy Forums will share the result of those assessments with sponsoring organizations to assess how well the forums achieved institutional objectives.

The Yancy Difference

Among the training and development opportunities available to leaders, professionals, and their organizations, the peer-orientation of the forum model stands out for several unique benefits. High achievers are energized by interacting and learning from one another.

Our Team

Meet our forum moderators. Our moderators are experienced professionals and former forum participants who help to facilitate our forums.

Mission Statement: Make a difference in the world, one small group at a time.
